About Us

Mission Statement

Our mission is to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord, which is to make disciples of men, women, and children and to equip individuals and families to experience abundant living.

Vision

Our vision is to submit to the Bible, to develop individual wholeness, and collective empowerment to please our Lord Jesus Christ

The Basics of our Beliefs

  1. We believe in one God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  2. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit; born of the virgin Mary; crucified; dead; buried; and resurrected. He ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is true God and true man.
  3. We believe the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is our rule of faith and practice.
  4. We believe that all are born sinners; the Holy Spirit convicts of sin; the Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for sin by shedding His precious blood on the cross as the atonement for sin; those who refuse to accept His sacrifice for their sin are eternally lost; and those who repent of their sins and personally accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior receive forgiveness of sin and life everlasting.
  5. We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance, that all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are valid and operative today, and that the fruit of the Holy Spirit should be increasingly evident in a Christian's life.
  6. We believe that the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ provides healing for our spirit, soul and body.
  7. We believe that we should obey Jesus' command to preach the Gospel to all the world.
  8. We believe in and look for the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our History

For over 30 years, Faith Community Church has been celebrating Jesus Christ in Geneva, New York.

Faith Community Church was organized in 1978 by Pastor J. Mark Ammerman. Reverend Dr. Ammerman felt the call of God to move his family here from Kansas City, Missouri. Although he was already in the pastorate God had given him a vision to begin a church in Geneva.

After a year praying and seeking, the Ammermans arrived and soon after the church, then called Triumphant Faith Church, began meeting in a garage on Main Street.

Triumphant Faith grew rapidly and quickly outgrew the small surrounding of the garage. The church was moved to the Carriage House on White Springs Lane. For the next several years, the church continued to grow and it soon became apparent that another move would be necessary.

Again the next phase of the church began as the first did with another dream of a church with a round roof located in downtown. Several searches for the right building had proven fruitless. Then, one day as Reverend Dr. Ammerman was walking and praying along the railroad tracks next to Route 5 and 20, the answer was found. In 1983, Triumphant Faith acquired the building occupied by Church’s Furniture and the church was moved to Exchange Street in Geneva.

During the next seven years, the church faced many struggles and challenges, meeting them with determination and sacrifice. Church growth continued to steadily increase.

When the historic, North Presbyterian Church, built in 1909, became available, as has happened with every other movement within his ministry in Geneva, Pastor Mark felt the call once again through a vision to take the church in a new direction.

In November of 1990, Triumphant Faith Church moved to it’s current home in the former North Presbyterian Church located at 90 Lewis Street in Geneva.

In 1993 Triumphant Faith Church changed its name to Faith Community Church to reflect the love and concern that our members have for the community.
