Mantle is defined as "an important role or responsibility that passes from one person to another", example, "the second son has now assumed his father's mantle".
Today Dr. Mark Ammerman talks about our roll as accepting (and passing on) our mantle. Our roll model for this is Elijah and Elisha, found in the book of II Kings chapter 2. When accepting a mantle we must be sure the course is God devined. This can be assured by keeping company with the right peple, Godly people. Who do you hang with? Are you ready to take up the cause and effort and, when it's time to pass it on to the right person?
As a church we have taken on the mantle of being a united family of Christ Jesus, of helping those in need all over the world, and of introducing Jesus to our local family. It has been an exciting experience. Come join us!
