God will give you ONE Word. The ONE Word for today is Ought. It means to be bound in duty or by moral obligation In Matthew 5:23-24, Jesus in His Sermon on the Mount gives His standards of forgiveness. Psalm 51:1-13 is a template for forgiveness with God. In verses 1-5, you acknowledge your sin. In verses 6-9, you ask for God’s forgiveness. In verses 10-13, you ask for God’s renewal and restoration. In Luke 17:3-4, Jesus tells us the frequency of forgiveness. In Luke 23:33-34, Jesus tells us the depth of forgiveness.
Final questions:
- Am I willing to acknowledge my role in the damage to my relationship with God and with fellow believers?
- Am I willing to seek God’s help in overcoming them and avoiding them in the future?
- Am I willing to go to radical lengths to be reconciled with a brother or sister I have offended in order to restore the unity of the body of Christ between us?
